A man used a meter long stick hit on the heads of two Siberian husky dogs until dead. Nikom Kamsoi Sub District, Mukdahan Province.
Shitan and Namtan, were jogging behind their owner into the village. After taking her eyes off them for a few seconds, she called them for an attention and they responded with three barks. The owner did not expect that would be the last three sounds from her dogs. A few minutes later she heard many thumps. She ran towards the sounds and saw the dogs were dead covered in blood.
Her cousin raised an open range chicken farming in the village. Shitan and Namtan went into his property and got hit on the heads many times until the skulls were broken. When the owner of the dogs and her daughter rushed to the location from where the noise came, they saw both of their dogs lying on the ground covered in blood. Her cousin even defied her to see “His Work”.
The owner reported this crime at the police station immediately. The police provided a statement and arranged an appointment for settlement in the next 3-5 days. The justice may not be enough for the dogs, the owner was afraid. She sent her complaint to WATCHDOG THAILAND.
WDT contacted Pol. Col. Prateep Panyowat, Superintendent and Pol. Lt. Col. Sontasak Soipab Deputy Superintendent Nikom Kamsoi Police Station to clarify that Animal Cruelty is a Public Offence. When the owner of the animal reported the crime and the statement was taken, the prosecution must be processed. Animal Cruelty is non compoundable and the victim can sue for compensation. The Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent were asked to investigate the case and interview the victim. This case is a Public Offence and as important as murder case so the innocent Shitan and Namtan can receive justice.
