A VDO clip of ‘Thong’ a dog repeatedly hit many times by his owner was touched by animal lovers all over the country. WatchDog Thailand rescued this cute little sweet three-year-old dog and forwarded him into the care of Elephant Nature Park foundation. Thong will be examined by a veterinarian for any injury or diseases. The father of the dog owner had given permission to recue Thong. His son will be sent to Suan Prung Psychiatric Hospital for treatment. Now Thong is safe and will not be beaten anymore. A tragic complaint was received by Watchdog Thailand. A Scottish cat was bagged and left in a field because a man who raised chicken was afraid that this cat would attack his chicken.‘Jordan’ was a grey Scottish cat lived with his owner in Wang Saphung District, Loei Province. On May 22, 2022 Jordan was missing. On 24 May the owner found him in a sack with shallow breath and blood coming from his mouth. The sack was left in a sugar cane field nearby. Jordan died later. May 1, 2022‘Para’ and ‘Papang’ two dogs got loose from their house late at night. At 4 am. the owner found out that the dogs were missing and just about to go out to find them when he saw ‘Para’, one of the dog waiting at the gate but ‘Papang’ was not there. The own went to look for him around the village but could not find it anywhere. He decided to ask the village headman to announce that if anyone found Papang please report to the office.In the morning of May 3rd, the village headman was informed by telephone that a body of a dead dog was left in the wood. Watchdog Thailand advised a citizen to bring a man who brutally hitting a stray dog while it was getting into the trash for prosecution. WDT received a complaint from a kind citizen who provided food for stray dogs in Laem Chabang city, Sri Racha District, Chonburi Province. A man used iron rod hit many stray dogs because he was disturbed that the dogs got into the trash. He also threatened to poison all every dogs that rummaged garbage. The dog was taken to animal hospital by this kind citizen and a statement was reported at the police station. WDT advised the citizen to file a criminal charge against the man. The first group of animals were taken to Dr. Theerawut Hongthong’s veterinary clinic for health examination and vaccination. On May 16, 2022 bigger dogs were tranquillized under supervision of Dr. Patranun Satjarom, our foundation’s veterinarian for health examination and vaccinating. A few dogs died during the rescue process but the rest were moved to temporary shelters so they can adjust to new environment and their living condition will be improved. April 19, 2022 Pol. Col. Pornthawee Somwong, Superintendent Chokchai Police Station, was visited by WDT and a dog caretaker in Soi Ladprao 87 to report a case on animal abuse. A man who raised chicken in that area was reported on two cases; Animal Cruelty and Offence of Mischief. There was an eyewitness who confirmed that this man hit the white dog in the head and used a rope to tie the neck of a black dog to his own motorbike until both dogs were dead. The man claimed that the dogs bit his chicken. He was also reported of breaking a property fence and trespassing to land. His chicken shed was built on a property of other people while the chicken was free range raised wandering around the neighboring area.
