A year ago WDT received a report regarding a cat café in Phra Sing district, Mueang Chiang Mai. In the report, the witness was asking to investigate the said café due to the poor living conditions and treatment of the cats. With the help of DLD and police officers, WDT was able to negotiate with the owners gave them a warning in which the business owners promised and assured to comply. However, when WDT came back to do its routine follow-up check- up, the café was moved to a location unknown to WDT.

Recently, WDT received a report from a witness regarding cats that are mistreated and placed in a small room in Sansai district. Responding to this report, With the DLD and the authorities, WDT investigated this case and in good fortune found out that these were the same cats that went missing a year ago.

In total, WDT was able to rescue 17 persian cats and are now sent for medical treatment to Elephant Conservation Foundation and Environment.

WDT would like to thank the DLD and the authorities for their cooperation, the Elephant National Conservation Foundation and environment for immediately stepping in and helping WDT every time we needed it, to the volunteers who are selflessly devoting their time to help and the public for keeping an eye on abusers and having the courage to report the incident to WDT.

Follow us and witness the transformation of these cats to their former glory.
